Paloma Faith has produced yet another top notch single, from packaging to remixes to the actual song, Upside Down. It's not my favorite off the album, and neither is the video. The Widower remix totally brings a new direction to the track, perfect for radio.
Paloma is a fresh and much needed addition to music. I do hope she moves onto a different sound for a second album, right now I feel like too many people will compare her sound to Amy Winehouse or something of the sort. Now go dance your ass off to this remix.
It was brought to my attention tonight that the girl in these mysterious IAmWhoIAm videos may be Courtney Love. A new teaser clip came as expected today…teaser Mondays! It may be a stretch but who the hell knows at this point? We get to hear a bit more of the song, and the video storyline is really coming together now. Thanks Jake!
New music from Roisin Murphy makes me scream at a pitch no ears should hear. After hearing Ro perform Royal T at the Viktor and Rolf fashion show last year (video below), I knew it would be a treat to hear the proper version. I wasn't let down in the slightest, this track is so meant for the clubs it's not even funny. I love the production and the fade out right in the middle. This one's a sure fire hit, if this woman could get some recognition here in the U.S. already!
Parallels are my new favorite discovery, their album Visionaries is an electro-pop treat. You must check out Find The Fire. I've included the first release version from a Kitsune compilation, which differs slightly from the album version. Her voice reminds me of Stacey Q.
I'm loving BT's new album These Hopeful Machines, especially the somber electro-ballad Every Other Way which features vocals by Jes. I'm sharing the radio edit with you, which is cut down from the full 9:40 masterpiece that's on the album. The production and composition of his work is both intricate and organic, filling the ears with a full spectrum of sound. A genius!
